Meditation

Meditation: I was able to go to a Meditation time at a center in Mill Valley last night. No talking for an entire hour. The instructions were just that, let you mind go, but i couldn't. I found myself singing praise songs and praying to the Father the one who shows wisdom and compassion and wants us to do the same. No ...self revelation/realization. So now i must confess, the center was a buddhist center where each tuesday night people come for a time of meditation to focus on themself. To let their mind go to a no thinking state, but i find this hard to believe, we are a thinking people and we are never without thought, even in our dazing we are thinking about something whether it be real or fantasy. Any way, the value of silence is soooo necessary. I enjoied the time talking to the Creator of all things and listening to the beautiful melodies my heart was singing to Him.

So i posted the above on a facebook group i am a part of and here is a response from a good friend Mr. B:

I find myself feeling the same as you on this topic. It is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to persist to think about nothing. The fact that we dream (intense brain activity in the midst of unconsciousness) should lead us to see the difficulty of conscious non-thinking. I do love how your time in silence brought you to ... See Morepraise in the presence of God. Perhaps there is something in the spiritual realm to notice here. Maybe it is that when one has surrendered his/her self to God, that the Holy Spirit is always working to point that persons life back to the praise of the Father. And perhaps those who have not surrendered as such, and continue to worship their own spirit/self only have their own quiet and empty spirit to look to in times of silence.

So what now? My challenge is that i continue to take time, YES TIME, to meditate in silence on who God is and what He has done in my life. Meditation is a good thing, my prayer is that the people i met at this place will be able to have their eye's opened to the true God of the universe. I'm not sure if i will go back, but if so, i hope to share more of whose I am!

Thanks for reading you few who follow me! Have a wonderful thanksgiving and blessing to all!

i've been brewing a similar post... P&C wanted me to spill about it all when I got home, but I refused, saying I needed more time to reflect on it.
