Rest Period

Do you ever think back when you were a child and remember about summer time.

One vivid memory sticks out. Riding, walking, or driving to Fain Pool. That's right....Fain Pool of all the wichitans reading this here blog!

Fain Pool is where i spent the summers, if i wasn't at home, camps, church, on vaycay!! Fain Pool is where it was at! Most of my friends from school had memberships and we all would play and swim and eat junk food together. I had my birthday party there at least 3 times!!

Do you remember rest period? This was when the lifeguards(who were always so cute and the dream of one day being a fain pool lifeguard was on everyone's mind!!) would blow their whistles and yell.....REST PERIOD!!

I wish sometimes we could live those days of resting, because our bodies need it!!

and guess what??? That is what i will be doing this evening!! Resting this tired body!! I hope that you have time to rest.

22 more days!!

My how time goes passing by!!! On a scale from 1 - 10 how would you rate your crazy life? Yes, I said it, your crazy life. I mean, i think everyone has crazy moments, times, days, months, etc in their life.

For me, i would have to answer about an 8. Why?

1. There are 24 more days until I walk across a stage with people telling me i have completed all the requriements for a Master's Degree!! Crazy

2. There are 5 more days until my brother and niece's birthday!! Awesome

3. There are 43 more days until I leave on a Jet plane to TEXAS!! Crazy

4. There are 46 more days until my brother gets married!! CRAZY (did i mention i have a brother and that he's younger than me??) whatevs!!

5. My friends are having life changing situations in thier lives that are amazing and "once in a lifetime" type of situations!! Crazy

ok, that is enough crazies for one day!! Ha!!

Take time today to sit and rest in the LORD, for He is our Refuge and Strength!

Tic Toc Tic Toc

The day is such a beautiful one!! I was able to play some volleyball with a bunch of friends this afternoon!

It's funny how some things feel like they drag on and on, but when you are not thinking of seems as though it's only but a couple of minutes ago you were just starting the activity you so enjoy doing.

As I write each day I feel the the first emotion that time is moving so slowly. 27 days feels in one sense so close...thinking about how much needs to get done before then etc, but also, it feels like it will never get here!
"Senioritis?" maybe, but i do know that motivation for seeking the "what's next" for my life is overwhelming me...when you think of me(whenever, or if ever that may be...please just say a prayer for direction and guidance. I know the Lord has something special lined up, but i would like to know now instead of later.tic toc, tic toc....

Thanks for reading, and listening to my heart.

Oh...btw...the trip to South Korea is a no go. The cost was to high for me to be able to be gone that long of a time. It's totally fine, i'm not distraught or bummed about it. I do have things to focus on for my summer here and for my church!! ok..i'm rambling. Continue to have a wonderful weekend.

Today is the first Giants game i will be going to! It just so happens to be that they are giving away "wearable blankets!!" They are sponsored by Fanta so these blankets from pictures i have seen are orange with the Giants logo all over them!!

I am so excited to see if i am able to get one of these wearable blankets!! The game starts at 7:15 tonight. I'm leaving with friend Sarah Wiemero at 4:30 to see if we will be among the 19,998 other people to receive a "wearable blanket!!"

Didn't think I would ever be so excited about a snuggie, but alas i am. as noted in an earlier post..i will post pictures as soon as possible!

Keeping Track

What can i say??? I am horrible at even trying to keep a blog for 46 days!! I do feel bad at breaking my own challenge to myself.

It just goes to show how imperfect i am.

Tomorrow is Wearable blanket night at the SF Giants baseball game! Me and two others are going for a chance to get our wearable blankets that should be outrageously awesome!! When i get one and get pictures of us in them i will definitely post one to the blog!

Have a wonderful day.

A prayer of reflection:

Psalm 19:14 "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer."

Burning the Candle

Do you ever stop to think you are in over your head. Committ to things you know you shouldn't but because of the way it appeals to your fleshly desires you say "Yes, I will do that?"

Well, i'm in a bit of a conumdrum!! I like others i know double book myself with activities on top of activities.

My selfish, it's all about me nature says...what's there to worry about, you can do both!! My body/spirit/soul tells me..."Heck, your body can handle it, but we reccomend that you don't do this.."

What voice am I going to listen to? Will I feel ashamed if I do the things I want? Will i pay for it later? Is this even what's going on? What Choice are you going to make? What about the people involved? Are they going to trust you? Will you let them down? Is it ok to be "late" to the next event?

Maybe this flood of questions has sometime gone through your thoughts as you contemplate what to do in your double booking times...

Is this a good vs. bad situation? Is this the H.S's way of telling me to stop burning the candle at both ends? Am I telling myself i need to choose a side?

Wow....What a challenge....Something we should all think about as we try to make sure our heart, soul, and mind are ready to work for the Glory of God.

P.S. sorry no posts sunday or yesterday. but there are only 31 more days until I graduate!! So exciting.

Write to you later!!

How you feeling?

It's so wonderful to hear pure elation from people who are so excited about news they have just received. It is a joy that can only be expressed through smiles. You know what i'm talking about. The kind of smiles that make your face hurt, the kind of smiles that make your face shine!!

I like to think that I'm a person that people like to share these life situations with. I may not be the first person they tell, but it's always nice to know that someone cares enough about you that they want you to be a part of the joy that is overwhelming them.

Today i am rejoycing becasue my friend who has been searching for a job was called and asked to accept the position. I am also blessed because i found a plane ticket home that was the right amount to spend a week at home during my brother's wedding. The cool thing is, is that i thought i was going halfsies with my parents on the ticket and they called me this morning and told me they were booking the flight themselves for me. What an honor to be called a Heck today.

I also feel good becasue of the beautiful weather we have here in NorCal! It's a lovely 70 degrees. The sun is shinning and I'm about to enjoy a wonderful walk as I get to marvel at creation and think of the One who created all in it.

Have a blessed weekend. Oh btw, i found out how i can text messages to my blog. I will be trying out this new way to blog this weekend!!

One Down! One to GO!!!

Last night was the final night class for this semester. It was a joyus, but in a way a sad class. We, the 12 of us, have been through a journey together this past semester. It was one, if not my favorite class that I have taken at seminary. The intimacy of sharing your journey is precious. I thank each and everyone in my class who was open about thier journey. Thank you God also for me being able to do the same.

Most of you know that it is hard for me to talk about what's going on in my life. It is something I have had to keep to myself for a long time. This class has been so beneifical for my life that I am seeking to continue on in Spiritual Direction. Whether it be as a person who goes to it or if I would be a good Director. We shall see...

Last night was also exciting for me becasue it gets me one day closer to GRADUATION!!! I am so very excited and now have one more class for the entire semester! 37 days!!!!

Unexpected blessings are all around. Today i was given one. Yesterday, I volunteered to keep children during a time when ladies of the seminary could go and meet together for a time of "REFUGE" from class, husbands, work. A time for women of the seminary either taking classes or not to come and be in community with each other.

Upon going to the place where I was to meet and greet children, none came. We waited for about 30 mins to make sure that we didn't leave to soon. We called Ms. Helen to let her know we still after 30 minutes didn't have any children. She told us we could leave and thanks for coming and waiting for the kids.

This was a paying gig and I did come to terms with myself that since we had no kids that we weren't going to get paid. This morning Ms. Helen handed me a petty cash slip for an amount that will help me get what i need for the rest of the week. I am so blessed and grateful for a God that provided this for me. He know my need and all I have to do is fully trust in the Lord.

yeah....there's that verse.....Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the LORD with ALL your heart." not just some of it, but all of it!! "and lean not on your own understanding." don't think that you know just exactly what you need and how you will always be able to get it! "In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."

just like the butterfly who feels like a new creature, and is. i want to say a big HALLELUJAH!! and THANK YOU LORD for your mighty works!

peace be on you today.

Rainy days, sunny days, and even cold...traffic piles up!

When on the road going to and from work whenever there is an accident, a cop car pulling someone over...the traffic in those areas are bad...It's not that hte accident is the cause of the traffic being so's the people slowing down to look at the damage or see what is going on with the police officer pulling the person over.

Now i have to admit that somedays i am with all the other motorists on the road and am curious as to what is happening, but every single time....i mean really.

P.S. sorry for using the ... so many times today, it's wierd i know.

Oh. something to pray about for me. I have the opportunity to go to SEOUL Korea this summer. I am in prayer about it and checking financially to see if this is something i will be able to do. WIll let you know what that answer will be. the total cost of the trip is around $2000, plus the time off i would need of work, rent for housing and car and phone payments. It's looking like i won't be able to go, but pray with me for clarification.

Yes, I didn't blog Saturday or Sunday...It is hard to do so when you have no computer at home. Maybe this is the year i will be able to get one!

Happy Monday.

Milk and Honeybuns!!

42 more days until graduation!

This morning for breakfast, i had a nice cup of vitamin d milk and 2 honeybuns!! I love the combination. But for me i wished that i had some butter for the buns!! That's right i said it. My father of all people started this wantingness(is that a word) for butter with honeybuns and cinnamon rolls. If you haven't tried it you should!

Put the butter on the honeybun/cinnamon roll and then put in the microwave for roughly 20-25 seconds. You will then have the warm gooey breaded goodness with melted butter on top!

And this meal/dessert whatever you want to call it can not be eaten unless you have a cup of milk. the combination is out of control!

The nutritional value is less than great, but when you crave a little piece of home for breakfast and live on a tight budget!! Honeybuns and milk can work!!

Even as I write this, I am able to relive the taste and feeling I have when I eat this "meal"

Have a wonderful friday and a wonderful weekend. To start off my weekend i get to go with good friends and have a birthday dinner at Outback Steakhouse!! Happy Birthday Kelly!!! Can't wait for the amazing aussie fries, steak, coke, and dessert!!

Word to all!

Red Delicious

Georgia! I love this font. will it be the same on the page? hope so!

Red Delicious is the name of my sweet new ride. She is an '04 Hyundai Santa Fe. She is bright red and i love her. We made the trek out from the W.Falls this past christmas/new years break. I was fortunate to have my friend Lindsay be able to make the drive back to the bay area with me. We traveled through snow, at times we thought our life was in danger of spinning out of control, but it never happened and we are still here to tell you the story!

It is interesting to think that i am in love with an object that can't love me i love objects that can love me back or do i choose to neglect them??

Take the Love Check....can i honestly that my life reflects these characteristics of love?

1 Corithinas 13
"Suppose I speak in the languages of human being and of angels. If i don't have love, I am only a loud gong or a noisy cymbal. Suppose i have the gift of prophecy. Suppose I can understand all the secret things of God and know everything about him. And suppose I have enough faith to move mountains. If I don't have love, I am nothing at all. Suppose i give everything I have to poor people. And suppose I give my body to be burned. If i don't have love, I get nothing at all.
Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not wand what belongs to others. It does not brag. It is not proud. It is not rude. It does not look out for its own interests. It does not easily become angry. It does not keep track of other people's wrongs.
Love is not happy with evil. But it is full of joy when the truth is spoken. It always protects. It always tusts. It alway hopes. It never gives up.
I know that my life doesn't reflect all these characteristics, but i'm thankful for the grace that is given to me to be able to learn and change my life so that i can have this love in me for others.
Have a wonderful day!

Do we Like to Party?

"We like to party
We like, we like to party
We like to party
We like, we like to party
We like to party
We like, we like to party
We like to party

I've got something to tell ya
I've got news for you
Gonna put some wheels in motion
Get ready 'cause we're coming through
Hey now, hey now, here's what I say now
Happiness is just around the corner
Hey now, hey now, here's what I say now
We'll be there for you

The Vengabus is coming
And everybody's jumping
New York to San Fransisco
An intercity disco
The wheels of steel are turning
And traffic lights are burning
So if you like to party
Get on and move your body"
The Vengaboys
This song makes me want to dance!! The wave your arms in the air and jump around like you just don't care type of dancing!! I hope you also now have the really old dude from the six flags commercial in your imagination and are now dancing with him and me!!
Such a long day, but it is b-e-a-utiful!! I will be going for a walk this afternoon after work and am so looking forward to it! Spring is creeping in, but will this weather last long...only those who are skilled in meteorology and the like can tell us!!
i hope everyone out here in blog land has had a wonderful day whether you are sick, snowed in, rained out, or walkin on sunshine!!!
44 more days!! 43 more until mi padres come!!

Good morning to you all. If you haven't heard yet the Duke Blue Devils beat Butler Buldogs(i think that's their mascot). Why me a person in NorCal would be excited about this??? Well it means that I, yes I and 3 others get to have dinner paid for by my job.

I am soooo excited. I get to pick anywhere i want and can take whomever i want. Who to pick and where to go?? know that graduation is now 45 days away. So i am thinking to surprise my mom and dad with this dinner and possibly one other person. We shall see. Who that person is....sorry, can't tell!! :)

Where to go....the options are endless....The Buckeye, Izzy's, Cliffside Resturant in the city overlooking Ocean Beach, Left Bank in Larkspur...many other good places that I may not even know about.

I will tell once that day comes, but you all will just have to wait with me!

Blessings on your day,
